It's a fundamentally different material — designed from the molecular level to survive real conditions. It's actually greater than 92.5% silver. No nickel, so no allergies. It just fights tarnish like the dickens, and takes a punch (unlike Sterling) so you don't have to feel guilty about wearing it at work.
The Origin
Deus Ex Labs isn't some big jewelry company. We're a husband-and-wife silversmith and materials engineering atelier working out of our home workshop in Columbus, Ohio. No factory. No outsourcing. No corporate pipeline.

This product wasn't trend-driven. It wasn't market-researched into existence. A friend asked for one for her electrician husband. We designed it. He still wears it, and people liked it. So now we sell them to the public. And we make every single one by hand.
To our knowledge, we are the only manufacturer producing a St. Eligius medal in the USA. Certainly the only one in this format. Not because we cornered a market — because no one else was making one. We had to.
